 Overview                                     
The Colorado Board of Law Examiners, whose members are appointed by the Colorado Supreme Court, consists of two committees. The Law Committee is responsible for all aspects of the Colorado Bar Examination. The Bar Committee is responsible for determining that applicants for admission are morally, mentally, and ethically fit to practice law, as well as determining eligibility for on-motion admission (admission without examination).  

July 2010 Filing Deadline Dates

  • Exam Dates: July 27 and 28, 2010
  • Filing deadline by mail: May 3, 2010
  • Submission deadline for electronic ONLINE APPLICATION: May 1, 2010
  • Late applications by mail through June 1, 2010 (May 31, 2010 for electronic online application submission)
 

ATTENTION CLASS A APPLICANTS
(Admission without examination)

In accordance with Rule 201.3(1), C.R.C.P., eligibility for on-motion admission in Colorado is restricted to those who have been admitted and who have "actively and substantially" practiced law in a jurisdiction(s) that accept(s) Colorado attorneys for admission without examination. It is the applicant's responsibility to check with the jurisdiction(s) in which you are admitted to ensure reciprocity exists with Colorado.

Persons who file an on-motion application, but who are not eligible to do so, may (1) transfer the application to the next scheduled bar exam and receive a refund of the difference between on-motion and exam fees, or (2) withdraw the application and receive a 50% refund. No full refunds will be given.
