Instructions for Applicant Submission for Certification for Limited Practice as a Graduate Before Admission By Examination

  1. The applicant must complete the application online by clicking the link below. Please note that as part of the online application submission, the applicant is required to pay a $50 application fee by credit card. Applicants will receive a confirmation email once their portion of the application is submitted as well as an email confirmation of payment. However, the application will not be considered complete and submitted, until both supplemental sections (IV and V) are submitted by the 3rd party individuals through the online form also linked below.

  2. Upon the applicant’s completion of the application and payment, the Dean of the applicant’s Law School must complete the Supplemental Section IV of the certification application. The applicant will need to provide the Dean with the applicant’s NCBE number in order for this supplemental form to be submitted successfully. Below is the link to the Supplemental Certification by Law School Dean online form.

  3. In addition, the applicant’s Supervising Attorney must complete the Supplemental Section V of the certification application. The applicant will need to provide the supervising attorney the applicant’s NCBE number in order for this supplemental form to be submitted successfully. Below is the link to the Supplemental Certification by Supervising Attorney online form.

Upon successful submission of application and supplemental sections, the Office of Attorney Registration will review and process the submission. The applicant will receive an email notification of the final determination. Please anticipate 7 to 10 business days for processing of this application once the 3rd party submission has been received and the application is complete.
