What to Know About
CLE Fee Increases
The
changes effective last month affect costs for program accreditation and
attorney compliance.

Effective Sept. 1, 2014 the Board of
Continuing Legal and Judicial Education instituted the following changes to its
forms and fees:
Program
Accreditation Fees
Form 1 - Application for Accreditation of
Continuing Legal Education Activity & Video Replays:

Government
agencies, local bar associations and non-profit organizations that provide
legal services:
$25.00 if received 15 days prior to
program. Applications not submitted 15 days prior to the start date of the
activity incur an additional $25.00 late fee for a total of $50.00 for the
application fee.
·
All other sponsors: $50.00 if
received 15 days prior to program. Applications not submitted 15 days prior to
the start date of the activity will be denied unless the applicant establishes
good cause for the delay and incur an additional $50.00 late fee for a
total of $100.00 for the application fee.
·
Video Replay
Accreditation fee for all: $10.00 if submitted with Form 1
application.

·
All sponsors: $50.00
application fee.

Attorney
Compliance Reporting Fees:
Late Fees for Reporting Compliance with
December 31st Deadline:
·
If
a CLE course was completed prior to the end of an attorney's compliance period
and reported to the Office of CLJE on
or before January 31st, no fee.
·
If
a CLE course was completed prior to the end of an attorney's compliance period
and reported to the Office of CLJE after
January 31st, incur a late fee of $100.00.
·
If
a CLE course was completed prior to the end of an attorney's compliance period
and reported to the Office of CLJE after
February 28th, incur a late fee of $200.00.
·
(If
programs were completed after December 31st see make-up plan
instructions).
Make-up Plan Filing & Late Fees for
Reporting Compliance with December 31st Deadline:

Any
courses completed after the deadline of an attorney's compliance period and
reported to the Office of CLJE on
or before January 31st, require a make-up plan be filed and incur
a fee of $100.00.
·
Any
courses completed after the deadline of an attorney's compliance period and
reported to the Office of CLJE after
January 31st, require a make-up plan be filed and incur a fee of
$200.00.
