Attorney Regulation Counsel leads an independent office of the Colorado Supreme Court that regulates the practice of law in Colorado through various programs. The office oversees attorney admissions, attorney registration, mandatory continuing legal and judicial education, attorney diversion and discipline, regulation of the unauthorized practice of law, and inventory counsel. The Colorado Supreme Court is the state's highest court. The Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the practice of law in Colorado.
Presiding Disciplinary Judge
The Presiding Disciplinary Judge presides over formal attorney discipline complaints filed by the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, among other duties.
Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline
The Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline consider complaints alleging misconduct by state supreme court, court of appeals, district court, and county court judges, except for Denver County judges. Complaints about magistrates are filed with the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel.

LLP Committee Develops Eligibility Guidance
The Colorado Supreme Court's LLP Committee has developed guidance to help interested individuals determine whether they qualify to apply to be a Licensed Legal Paraprofessional. The application document is coming soon. The first LLP Exam will be held April 30, 2024. The Community College of Denver is hosting the first required LLP ethics class in the fall of 2023, which can be taken remotely. More information can be found here.
Court publishes rules defining LLP scope of practice and admissions requirements
The Supreme Court has published final rules on the authorized scope of the practice of law by licensed legal paraprofessionals, as well as their admissions requirements. Additional rule changes and explanations of the admissions process will be linked on this website.

Court adopts new requirement for Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity ("EDI") CLE
The Supreme Court has amended C.R.C.P. 250.2 and related rules to require two credit hours of EDI CLE within the seven-hour requirement for legal professionalism that applies to each three-year CLE compliance period. The change is effective for CLE compliance periods beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023, and subsequent periods. The Supreme Court also approved changes to Regulation 103.1 and related regulations. A summary has been published here.
